How we connect your home to the fiber network

Here you can read in English how fiber connections are built into your area.

1. Planning and Installation Visit

During the planning and installation visit, we will determine how your home will be connected to the fiber backbone network, and where the fiber terminal will be installed inside your home. Please reserve about two hours for the visit.

Often, the fiber terminal is installed during this visit, along with any necessary work on the exterior wall.

Topics covered:

  • Installation locations for the fiber terminal and wall outlet
  • Routing of the fiber cable on your property
  • Instructions for using the fiber terminal and troubleshooting
  • Contact details during construction

Please note, that the installer might not have detailed information about the schedule of the following construction phases.

Important:
Do not remove the fiber terminal from the wall. Ensure the power cable is connected and the device is switched on. The power light should be green. Connect other devices only after the fiber connection is active.

2. Fiber Construction

Our contractor will schedule the installation of the microduct on your property if it has not been installed earlier.

A narrow trench (approx. 30 cm deep) will be dug from the edge of the property to your house. The fiber microduct and signal tape will be installed, after which the trench is refilled, grass seeds are sown, and the area is carefully restored. The wall box is installed on the exterior wall at the latest during this phase.

The planned route may change if obstacles such as bedrock is encountered. Any changes will always be agreed with you.

If there is no existing fiber network in your area, it will be built along the streets. Although we prefer green areas, road surfaces may need to be opened to install the main ducts underground. Temporary surface repairs will later be replaced with permanent asphalt.

If the network already exists in your area, your property will simply be connected to it, making the installation work lighter.

Once construction work is complete, the fiber is blown into the installed microduct from a street cabinet. Final connections are made to the exterior wall box. This work is quick and does not cause disruption.

Work may be carried out in several phases, so you may see contractors on your property multiple times.

You will receive a text message when the fiber connection is ready.

We will leave your yard in the same condition as it was before the installation work. Restoration work on the property is usually carried out immediately after the installation. Some finishing work may be completed later depending on the season. If there are any issues with the quality of our work, please contact our customer service.

3. Ordering Internet and Additional Services

Once you receive a notification that your connection is ready, you can order an internet subscription (broadband) and additional services such as cable TV.

If you have already ordered them, your connection will be activated automatically within 1–2 business days.

Wireless and secure internet at home

To use the internet wirelessly on all your devices, you will need a Wi-Fi router. Please also ensure your data security and protect your home network with a password.

In case of any issues, please contact your service provider directly.
